As a community at LPC, we have just shared the Easter season, where joy abounds in the great gift of God’s son and the promise of His enduring love. Daily, we see His love in so many ways.
Spring is the time of year when we are grateful for new beginnings, thankful for past kindnesses, and eagerly anticipate special occasions such as graduation, weddings, and births. We remember veterans on Memorial Day, celebrate Mother’s and Father’s Day, and note Anniversaries of deceased loved ones.
At Lakeside Presbyterian Church, we have a unique method to highlight these times through a program called “Someone Special.” This invites our members and friends to honor or remember someone special in their life with a gift to LPC. A gift in the name of a special someone, for an occasion important to you, in the amount of your choosing, can be made anytime of the year. At LPC, we do see an increase in gifts through Someone Special during this time of year. We are hopeful that this special tradition will provide you with a gracious way to meaningfully express your appreciation or gratitude for your special someone, while caring for your church.
There are yellow envelopes in the pew racks, or you may send your gift to the LPC office. Please include your contact information and the name and occasion/ reason you are naming your someone special. An acknowledgement card may be sent to a person of your choice, or you can be anonymous. A page in the Annual report is dedicated to those special people who have been honored this year.
As Chair of the Administrative Committee, this spring I will be honoring the wonderful staff and people of this church who have been so thoughtful as I seek to do God’s work during Pastor Kari’s absence. You are truly, truly “Special Someones.” Thank you.
