What to Expect If you plan to visit LPC, you probably have some questions about what to expect; here are some of those most frequently asked. If your question isn’t answered, feel free to email or call the church and we’d be happy to help you! · What time is the service? Each Sunday we meet for a worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. During the summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day), the service starts at 9:30 a.m. · Do you have childcare? Yes. The nursery (staffed by volunteers) is available during worship and for other church events. Preschool and kindergarten age children typically remain in worship with their parents for the first part of the service, after which they go downstairs to attend a church school class. · Is the church handicapped accessible? Yes. The lower level entrance (on 45th Street) offers easy access to the elevator. After entering through the double doors, turn right at the stairway and the elevator is on your right. Hearing amplifiers and large print bulletins are also available. · When is communion served and who can participate? We serve communion once a month. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ can take part. You don’t need to be a member of the church. Baptized children are welcome to take part as well, if the parents desire. · Does Lakeside Presbyterian have a newsletter? Yes! The Presbynews is published each month. The following policy and related items were approved by the Session of Lakeside Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 to be put into effect immediately. Thank you for your cooperation. “Lakeside Presbyterian Church strives to be peanut and nut free. For the safety of children who have life threatening nut allergies, please do not bring peanuts, peanut butter, or nut products into the church building. Thanks!” Parents of allergic children must provide an Individual Health Care Plan for the office. The Christian Education Committee, along with the Parish Nurse, will educate the congregation concerning the nut policy and the importance of overall hygiene. |
